Record an action for a risk/opportunity

Estimated reading: 2 minutes

1. Hover over the Registers tab and click Risks & Opportunities.

2. Select the risk/opportunity you wish to work on to by clicking on the Title.

3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Actions tab. This will only be visible if the risk/opportunity is marked as a Priority.

4. Click Add Action.

5. Use the tick boxes to select who the action is intended for. There can be multiple recipients, and anybody selected will receive an email notification informing them of the action with a link to access it.

TIP: If you don’t see your intended recipient, they may need adding as a user.

6. Use the calendar to select a deadline.

7. Set as urgent? is optional. This is useful if you wish certain actions to be prioritised above others.

Send reminder? will display a calendar that will send an extra email notification on the chosen date, if desired.

8. Use the text box to enter your required action.

9. Click Create Action.

4. Click Complete next to the action you wish to close off.

The action must be assigned to you, or you must be a super-user for this button to display.

5. A text box will appear. Enter your corrective action text here.

TIP: Entering a response to each action is best practice, as this contributes to your audit trail and ensures that every activity is documented.

6. Click Complete.

7. The action status will change to Completed, recording who by, the corrective action, and a date and time stamp.

You will be also notified via email if anybody completes an action added by you.

4. Use the edit or delete buttons to amend or remove any actions, if required.

TIP: You can view all the actions in the register within one table using the register’s Actions tab, to make keeping on top of actions simple.
